About Our Company

Steve Newman, the owner of Speedway Welding Supply, began this business in July of 1973 out of a dream. He learned how to weld at Lincoln Electric School in the late 60's. In 1963 when he built his first racecar, a '54 Ford jalopy that he raced at the Pines Speedway in Groveland, MA, he knew that the sparks of welding were for him. Later he would race at Oswego Speedway in NY. His years of racing and welding are preserved in the title of Speedway Welding Supply. Originally the business was begun as a welding company then expanded into welding supplies sales, and industrial gases able to aid local welders and businesses. As a man who personally has been welding for over 25 years, he refuses to sell anything without his own stamp of approval. If the product isn't solid enough for the use in Steve's own garage, it won't be sold in his store!

Today, Steve still welds as his personal hobby. His most recent project is a replica of the Big O, a famous racecar driven by Ollie Silva, a local racing hero. Visit his hobby website on this project by Clicking Here.
